Life Is A Continuous Celebration Until Further Notice
What are you waiting for? Waiting for the right moment, waiting to do the things you’ve always wanted to do, waiting for the big break so that you can finally be who you wish to be. You’re waiting for the right person to come along so that you can be happy, waiting to tell the special someone how you feel about them, waiting to reveal what you buried in your heart.
You’re waiting for the next adventure, the next promotion, the great opportunity, waiting to win the lottery, for the big bucks to come in, for the perfect job to land on your lap, waiting to be at the right place. You’re waiting for life to begin.
You wait until accidents happen and wish you’d done what you should have. You wait till the last moment to say what was dancing on the tip of your tongue. You wait till it’s too late to express how you feel because it’s always too inconvenient, too uncomfortable, too awkward, too bothersome.
You wait for an afterthought to glance back when you’re too far forward, at the point of no return, hoping it was otherwise, hoping you could turn back time.
Are you listening to the ticking away of life when every breath inches you closer to the predetermined end?
What are you waiting for? The right moment, the opportune time, the perfect occasion? What if that’s an illusion, a fallacy, a misconception — that it’s nothing more but a view or belief based on a misinterpreted perception of reality?
What if, in the incidental glimpses of life, this is it. In the daily ticking of a clock that does not stop and night blends into days, we dance across realities where every second is another year. Soon everything disappears and we’ll never see them again.
Are you listening to the ticking away of life when every breath inches you closer to the predetermined end? If this is so, what will you do with the remaining time you have?
Our entire lives are the time we have right now because the truth is, our days are determined.
Moments drip pass like grains of sand in the hourglass. You aimlessly grab a handful from the landscape of an endless shoreline and watch it sift through your fingers, never once worry about its shortage, assuming it will never run out until it does. Until you look down and see the ocean has swept everything away. All you’ve left with is the handful in your fist. How safe would you hold on to them? Yet the more you squeeze, the more it trickles through your fingers.
What if all you are is the construction of your memories, your day-by-day imagination that creates who you will become?
Should you choose to continue in the constant state of hesitation and apathy, the next moment will vanish into ashes of the memories you burn, and what could have, will remain lost forever in the ether.
Time and only time holds value in our lives. It’s what we have at this moment. Moments made up of minutes, hours and days. The perfect moment is a luxury we never truly have. Our entire lives are the time we have right now because the truth is, our days are determined.
